About Rockiescast
Rockiescast, part of the Denver Sportscast Network, is a forum for fans to discuss the current state of affairs of the National League Champion Colorado Rockies. New episodes, available every Monday and Friday throughout the season, feature hosts Ted Burke and Scott Weiss taking an informed, opinionated, and sometimes offbeat look at how things are going for the club.
Each show will feature a recap of the Rockies' previous series and a look ahead to the next, as well as a glance at how things stack up in the NL West. Throughout the season, Scott and Ted will induct elite players into a very exclusive player of the week society as well as honor one lucky baseball figure with the prestigious Beard of the Month Award. Occasionally, they'll also form strong opinions on topics such as bacon, sock length, and the state of the game. Rockies fans are encouraged to participate in any or all of the above antics.
Our call-in line number is (303) 857-5176 and you can reach us via email at hosts@rockiescast.com. Call or e-mail anytime and leave your name and location if you'd like your comment or question to be played on the air. Go Rockies!
About Ted Burke
Ted Burke has been a Rockies fan since the beginning. He's even a Zephyrs fan from back in the day. Ted grew up in Golden, getting to games whenever he could. By high school, he'd get to brand-new Coors Field with his dad about 50 times a year. In a questionable move, Ted headed east to a then baseball-deprived Washington, DC for college. It was a dark time, indeed.
Today he lives just across the Potomac in Alexandria, Virginia. When he's not glued to a Rockies game, Ted can be found sampling the area's finest cheap, greasy fare or sitting in the bargain seats at Nationals and Orioles games, quietly longing to be back in Section 331 at Coors. His most recent attempt to get back to Blake Street included ecstatically flying to Denver with a single ticket to Game 5 of the World Series waiting for him at Will Call. Ouch.
Ted is, and always has been, an embarrassingly bad baseball player.
About Scott Weiss
Scott Weiss grew up in Bellmore, NY on Long Island. Living about 30 minutes from Shea Stadium, Scott was able to make it out to see the Rockies in their first ever series of professional baseball, catching game 2 of their opening series against the New York Metropolitans. Like Ted, Scott moved to the District of Columbia for college at a time when the Nationals were still playing their home games in another country. Soon enough, Ted's love of the Rockies started to rub off on Scott. To date, Scott has seen the Rox play games in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, and of course, at Coors Field.
Scott remains in the DC area, living just on the other side of the Potomac in Arlington, Virginia. Scott is a much better baseball player than Ted.
