Up Where We Belong

Who knows what tomorrow brings

Todd Helton

In a game, few streaks survive
All I know, is the way I feel
Seems surreal, Todd keeps it alive

The season’s long
There are Dodgers in our way
But now it seems we win every day

Todd lift us up where we belong
Made the Pirates cry

On a mountain high

Todd lift us up where we belong

With Bradley and Tulo

Lets take down the Halos

Scott, I’m starting to worry about your taste in music…

Scott June 22nd at 12:45 pm

I’m going to try to make this a regular addition to the website every Sunday and opened it up to song suggestions from our listeners during the episode we recorded last night. As soon as I did that, Ted threw this song choice out there. Who am I to argue? Now every time I hear this song, I will think of Todd Helton’s awesome walk-off homerun against the Pirates.

this looks familiar….what song is it?

Sorry, I’ve always dreamed of being a big league closer jogging out from the pen to this song. So I just had to shout it when Scott mentioned taking suggestions for songs. I’m just amazed we’ve been doing Rockiescast for over a year without posting the link to that song. Thank you, Scott, for finally posting that link and putting an end to a sad chapter in Rockiescast history.

Ted, you are a weird dude. The end.

All hail the Cookie Monster! 59 wins makes him the Rox all-time leader. Someone buy that man a beverage and some cheap tacos tomorrow from 4:00-6:00 PM.

Another delicious victory, despite an extremely rude interruption by the Emergency Broadcast System during the 7th inning that caused me to break my headphones off at the jack. Seriously EBS, next time you’re gonna blast that awful tone in my ears, I’d better look out the window and see a tornado.

Scott,

okay, here’s a song suggestion. I’ve always been partial to “Rock this Town” by the Stray Cats. Think you can swing it? :)

Scott June 23rd at 6:24 am

I can definitely swing it! Can’t make any promises as to when you’ll see it, but I’ll add it to the list.

Kylie June 23rd at 11:48 am

how bout phil collins cant stop loving you?? think they lyrics can really work well with the rockies the past three weeks. what kind of music do u listen to? i wanna suggest songs that you would want to do and would be awesome!

Scott June 24th at 5:23 am

What do Elvis, Jurassic 5, Rage Against the Machine, Frank Sinatra, Cake, Ozomatli, The Temptations, Def Leppard & Parliament Funkadelic have in common? Not much besides being awesome and that I like them all. I listen to lots of different stuff, but in general don’t like country music and most songs that get a lot of radio play these days.

Abreana June 24th at 7:57 am

No country for you, Scott? I like country, but I can’t listen to it for hours, or else I think I’ll barf.

I think this addition to Rockiescast will be really cool. I’m excited! So far you’re doing awesome, Scott. Keep it up!

Can we nominate Lou Gossett, Jr. for BotM? The ’stache itself isn’t world-class, but that come-hither look in his eyes sells it so well. Oh baby.

Scott June 25th at 10:40 am

Even though it cannot make a sound, this photo speaks as if you are the only one in the room.

“Hello there Lauren. I am Louis Gossett Jr. I am a man of great self-confidence (as the star of Iron Eagle should be), yet I possess not even the slightest hint of cockiness (a trait no man that has co-starred in a movie with Jim Belushi should ever demonstrate). Look into my eyes, Lauren, and come hither. I am going to count down from five, and when I reach one you will suddenly have the urge call Lions Gate Entertainment and demand that they release The Perfect Game, a film that was originally scheduled for release in August of 2008 in which I play a small role, but perhaps my most awesome role to date. Louis Gossett Jr. as Cool Papa Bell. How sweet it sounds! This is the happiest I have been since 1983, when I heard those magic words - Louis Gossett Jr. as Anwar al-Sadat.”

It may not be the full thousand words that a picture is proverbially worth, but man does that photo tell a tale.
