An All-Star Worthy Song
Rock This Town
by Jason Marquis
Well my Bradley and me won’t go out late Saturday night
Gotta get a good night sleep so on Sunday we feel alright
Well, I’ll step on the mound, get a ground ball or two,
Bradley’s gonna double cuz it’s what he likes to do
And we’re gonna take back Home Field for the National League.
Well we got an NL team that really don’t look half bad
And seeing Fuentes on the AL squad makes Brad feel glad
But we’re going into Busch and we’ll send Brian home a loser,
And we can use a little help from the NL roster chooser,
C’mon Charlie Manuel, add Huston Street right away.
We’re gonna rock this town, rock it inside out
We’re gonna rock this town, make ‘em scream and shout
Let’s rock, rock, rock man rock
Bradley’s got the pop, and my sinker’s gonna drop
We’re gonna rock St. Louis, rock it inside out

That’s awesome, Scott! Great work.
So did everybody enjoy the sad tacos last night? For me it was twice as sad, because not only were they sad because of the 11-7 loss, but also because I was eating the tacos right after the Rockies 4-3 loss. *sigh* Tacos with salty tears don’t taste very good.

I couldn’t even taste the saltiness in my sad tacos yesterday. All other flavors were drowned out by the bitter taste of losing a home series to the lowly D-Backs.

I have a question for you guys… You guys don’t live in Colorado, right? So technically you don’t even get cheap tacos… unless you go buying tacos at full price, and then pretend that you got four of them for a buck.

Correct. Not only do we not get cheap tacos for Rockies Happy Taco days, but Taco Bell has no such arrangement with the Nats or Orioles. We get no love out here from Taco Bell, except for the “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” nation-wide campaign that they have during the World Series.

Bummer.

Hi - Great song, Scott!
We are transplanted Rockies fans, living in New England now. The coverage of baseball in the newspapers here is all Red Sox and AL. Most of the time the Rockies games are played too late for the scores to make into the next day’s paper, and then by the day after that, it’s old news. So mostly we get our coverage from the internet… a friend who’s been living in Florida found the same problems there.
So it’s no wonder that the great Rockies players don’t get All-Star votes; nobody even knows they exist! Frustrating!
Keep up the great coverage - we appreciate your thoughtful discussions.
