technically it’s not Rocktober, merely October…at least not yet.
touche on Matt Diaz, however. but now I would actually swing my vote to Jeff Suppan. In addition to his poor performance against the Rox last night, he was clearly the inspiration for Mr. Diaz’s horrible-baserunning-off-third-in-a-critical-game act. Game 3 2004 WS, Suppan had an almost identical brain fart off third base with the Cards already down 2-0 in the series. I recall the throw actually came from first, but his deer-in-the-head-lights freeze 20 feet off the bag was exactly the same as Mr. Diaz’s last night.
what is actually needed is some kind of award for players on other teams whose blunders are beneficial to the rockies…it probably wouldn’t wouldn’t be weekly like MCMs, but i think this is a gap that needs to filling. i would propose calling it the ‘beautiful idiot’ award.

IT’S ROCKTOBER NOW! Wow, I’m still on a high from today’s game. Dang. Wow, I read the first paragraph or so of the Paige piece (of ____), and had to close it. I want to listen to what actual fans who pay attention have to say. Scott, Ted, you want to take this one? (AKA, I’m looking forward to going out this afternoon and coming home to a nice new podcast to listen to).
