World Series Tied 1-1

With the Yankees win last night it is no longer possible for the road team to win every game, which would have crushed the hopes and dreams of all fans in attendance and made me happy. So I guess now I’m hoping the Yankees to win in 5. How great would it be to see the Phillies drop three straight in front of their hometown fans and have to walk off the field as the opposing team celebrates around the mound? I can’t think of anyting (most) Phillies fans deserve more. Of course, I’d much prefer that outcome if it wasn’t the Yankees, but there is no other option. What I’d like to see is three straight late inning leads blown by the Phillies bullpen, culminating with a Game 5, 2-run shot by Mark Texeira in the top of the 9th off of Brad Lidge to give the Yankees a 1-run lead and the eventual victory.

I know this post is mean and spiteful, but if anyone has earned my spite, it is Phillies fans. And I am even more angry because I feel forced to actually root for a Yankees World Series. Damn you, Phillies! How could you do this to me?

Ah I agree, Scott. Such a tough series to try and pick sides on. I wish both of them could lose, crushing hopes of Yankees AND Phillies fans… but I suppose this is not an option. Darn.

I think I’m most impressed that he actually showed up to claim the award. Okay, that’s not true. Obviously I’m most impressed by the lip sweater, but good for him for showing up to the award ceremony.
